Lance Twitchell, Sitka Public Library, Outer Coast, Sitka Tribe of Alaska, and Sheet'ka Kwaan Naa Kahidi staff for hosting the Molly of Denali film screenings. Over 100 people attended this showing of the first nationally distributed children’s series to feature an Alaska native character.
Talented artist Liz Zacher for hosting our salmon themed July Paint and Snack. Each participant left with their own unique salmon painting, along with knew knowledge about the salmon life cycle.
Seafood Producers Cooperative for donating totes for our upcoming tote races on August 31st at 6pm, along with LFS Marine Supplies for generously donating gift cards for the 1st place winners.

Paint and Snack, July 20th!
Please join Sitka Seafood Festival for a fun and interactive paint and snack from 1-3:00pm at 304 Baranof St as part of the 2019 Sitka Seafood Festival kick-off. For a $20 ($10 for each additional child) admission you get canvas, paint, brushes, instruction, local smoked salmon, snacks, and drinks. Salmon will be the focal point of the paint and snack, painting will be led by Liz Zacher MFA. We’ll be incorporating science related activities to the salmon life cycle and there will be prizes. July Events: Boating without the boys at the Alfa office:
Join us on July 21st, 8:00am-4:00pm at 304 Baranof St, for a women’s recreational boating class! The cost for this one-day class is $125. This women only class will introduce recreational boaters to basic skills needed to safely operate small craft to manage emergencies on the water. Learn skills such as risk assessment, navigation, emergency signals, outboard engines and troubleshooting, and much more! Do you think you’re a seafood expert? Put your knowledge to the test! Join us for a fun night of seafood trivia at Bayview Pub, 407 Lincoln St, from 7-9:00! There will be three rounds of trivia with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for winning teams. There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome.

September Events:AMSEA Marine Safety Inspector training course
AMSEA is conducting a five and a half-day U. S. Coast Guard-accepted Marine Safety Instructor Training (MSIT) in Sitka, Alaska starting on September 23 and concluding on September 28. The MSIT provides practical, hands-on experience in marine survival equipment usage and procedures.

October Events: Fall Fishermen’s Expo
ALFA and the Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust will be putting on their next Fishermen’s Expo in the last week of October 2019, as part of an initiative by the Sitka Seafood Festival to involve more fishermen with the festivities. Check back soon for more information!
In partnership with the Alaska Longline Fishermen's Association, the Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust hosted the Sitka Seafood Festival for the first time ever in 2017! We are thrilled to be back for the 2019 season for a festival full of food, games, prizes, educational events, and much more.
